Mac mini is quiet. I had it at my office and was a pleasure to work without any humming/whining of fans. It is a cheap, small powerful mac. It now dual boots to Mac OSX and Windows. Best of both worlds. I recommend you buy the apple keyboard. Skip the apple mouse... any USB mouse will do.
