Hi there! Great question. Most people look at the glass that's half empty, I do that too, but if you look what you have in your life right now and have gratitude for where you've got yourself, difficult or no, realise you have got yourself there anyway. If you are having difficulties realise you have created them and therefore you can create something that feels different.
Life is up and down. Accepting the downs gives the contrast of realising the ups. Start to think of what you DO want vs what you DON'T want. Most of our lives we are focused on the don't wants and therefore that's what we attract, unwillingly. It is not a conscious thing but our subconscious is a willing servant and the more we focus on the job we hate, the family we don't get on with, the money we don't have, etc we get more of it.
Sounds namby pamby I know but whenever you start to go down the line of the 'yuks' say cancel cancel and think about what you do want. Write it down, put notices around, make a treasure map (pictures of your desired reality in picture and words), make a self talk tape (your voice with positive statements of what you have and do want in the present tense). Remember to NOW everything. That's all we have. Don't put off today what can be done NOW. Be more present, fear comes from futurising and regret comes from the past.
Life is one big game, a hologram designed by us to see how we tick, our beliefs make things real, yet if we change a belief everything changes.
Hope this has helped a little!

Despite Circumstances
Or maybe because of them: Whatever hardship you are undergoing right now, there are other people, lots of them, feeling the same thing. One can lighten one's own load by sharing, but I have found that reaching out to someone and offering help is a great way to feel better. In other words, sharing my experience, strength and hope to someone who is experiencing something I have dealt with in the past is an excellent tonic. So go offer hope and help to someone who needs it.
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling better already.
