Man, I'm old.
Geez -- I feel like the "old guy". All you young whippersnappers don't remember the day when we didn't have tables or css!!!
 Anyway, enough of that silliness...
My name is Daniel and I have about a dozen different jobs. And about 20 hobbies. And a wife. And two kids. And dog and bird (actually, the bird is my daughter's). Mortgage? Yes. Two car payments. All that suburbanite jazz. At least they're not SUVs.
I like writing code, but I like thinking about writing code and figuring stuff out even more.
Passion is the single most important character trait a person can own. If you Love something, you will learn all you can about it; embrace it; grow from it.
I am a small business owner. My wife and I do all sorts of graphic design work and we produce advertising specialties and miscellaneous printed collateral for (mostly) small businesses. I also do a lot of software development and website dev and provide consultative/contract webmaster services for several sites.
I also work as a full-time software engineer for a large bank, developing what amounts to "online pc banking software" but for commercial clients with big bucks who spend north of a few million dollars a year with their credit cards (some spend a few million a day!).
I have a strong passion for pretty much anything I do. We'll see if I can keep up with this site -- I haven't found a tool like this that's been able to keep my interest, but this one has promise.
Some of my hobbies include writing shareware, drawing, working on a video game with my son, working on a movie with my daughter, playing with my dog, traveling with my family, going to movies with my wife, woodworking, cooking, and reading.
My interests are varied -- everything from music to astronomy to robot design. I enjoy reading business books -- especially books that turn thinking on its ear. I've been on a 'self-improvement' kick, having just read GTD, E-myth, Micro-ISV, Raving Fans and others, but I think I'm about to switch modes to business bios and "manifesto"-type titles (Cluetrain or Long Tail comes to mind).
I've rambled long enough, so I'll sign off for now. Perhaps I'll follow up with more stuff when I think of it.

Thanks a bunch for the support!
I wrote this last night. It's sort of an essay on making a Web 2.0 app. We seem to be having lots of those quests, so I wanted to share a little of my personal philosophy.
I'm not entirely certain that posting a link to my Otavo blog on the Otavo forum is not link spamming for points, so I'm posting it to my own intro thread. I won't be posting it as a StoreMark to any Quests, but y'all are certainly welcome to! ;-)
It's what other people are :-)
No, honestly I'm with you there.
I came into the world of design (gd) when macs still had b&w monitors and very tiny hd's. So small we had to double clutch floppys to get all the program in ...
Like you, I'm checking Otavo out to see if it's what I need.
