Ability to rate quests
Ability to rate quests on a 1-5 scale:
1 = Lame (has almost no value)
2 = Basic (has minimal value)
3 = Decent (has some value, quest not focused)
4 = Good (has real value, quest is focused)
5 = Great (has real value, quest is well focused)
(AJAX implementation)
mouse over on star (or whatever icon chosen) will show text descriptions of what the rating means.

Comments welcome...
I think the link ratings are more important than the quest ratings... It's easy to find interesting and useful quests just by the participation, but not easy to tell on a quest what information was useful. Â
I also think link ratings should count toward the points system. If you submit a link that is highly rated, then you should receive extra points for doing so.
(note: I've posted elsewhere that I think *anything* that has the potential to affect your "points" should be rated.)
Now... I like the idea of the "lame to great" ranking system but I would say that the rating should start you in a neutral to slight-positive position (say "3" on a 1-5 scale) and should be voted up or down by the people.
There are lots of different metaphors, but a numeric scale that starts at zero (a-la Digg or Slashdot) is the simplest. IMHO, colors, stars, thumbs, mice, whatever... those are all cliche attempts at being clever, when what really matters is the rank.
Is it good? Yup
Then give 'em a +10!
Does it suck huge ones? Yup
Then give 'em a -10!
Just my $0.02 (to use another silly cliche!)
Heck, maybe it doesn't even have a boundary, like digg...
We have some details on the features we would like to implement for the new rating system...
The main idea is to go heavy on how much a quest or link actually helps users on the quest. The are also provisions in place to prevent different kinds of abuse.
You can find the details on the new system here...
